ALEX HERNANDEZ
President

Alex Hernandez is responsible for leading & managing the operations & strategic direction of the company, providing creative leadership for a full range of commercial development services. He prioritizes performance over profit & focuses on sustainable, long-term development solutions Alex oversees all development activities including project sourcing, contract & lease negotiation, entitlements, construction procurement, underwriting & tenant services.

ROBERT CERRONE
Sr. Vice President – Development

Robert Cerrone brings over two decades of experience in acquisitions, property and asset management, marketing and business operations. He has successfully acquired, developed and managed portfolios of over $1 Billion dollars in total market value. As Director of Development, Mr. Cerrone is responsible for the company’s real estate ventures, acquisitions, partnerships, and developments.

THOMAS BURKETT
Sr. Vice President – Finance

Thomas Burkett is a highly skilled financial professional with notable experience in accounting, sales tax auditing and financial modeling. As VP of Finance for Hernandez, Tom oversees the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, annual budgets, bonding, reporting, management of all project accounting functions, and tax compliance documentation. 

JOE GOSS
Sr. Vice President – Development Services

As Senior Development Manager, Joe Goss is responsible for overseeing all facets of the development cycle including planning, design, pre-construction due diligence, entitlements, regulatory approval processes and permitting. With over four decades of development experience, Mr. Goss has worked for some of the nations largest development companies. 

ROBERT CURBELO
Sr. Development Manager

As a Project Executive at Hernandez Construction, Mr. Curbelo improves the vision of the Project Leaders, drives greater realism on job planning, provides “aid & comfort” to Project Leaders when they need it most, and educates Project Leaders on critical and strategic decision making when challenges arise.

BOB SCHECTER
Sr. Development Manager

Bob Schecter provides full oversight of the feasibility analysis and is responsible for governmental entitlement and execution of all aspects of commercial real estate development services. Over the course of his career, Mr. Schecter has been responsible for the construction and development of millions of square feet of institutional, residential, educational, commercial and retail projects throughout Florida.

 

REX GUZMAN
Development Analyst

Rex Guzman supports the execution of the Company’s development platform by performing financial analyses of development opportunities, preparing appropriate documents to facilitate the underwriting and closing of real estate transactions, interfacing with brokers, equity partners, institutional clients, and the Company’s development leadership, and tracking and reporting on the status of self-storage transactions within the assigned geographic markets.

MASON JOHNSON
Acquisition Manager

Mr. Johnson is responsible for acquiring properties from site selection to turn-key, including managing environmental initiatives from site reviews, operational feasibility, functionality elements, and engineering site plans to meet and exceed municipal zoning codes and ordinances throughout the permitting process at the local, state, and federal level. Mason analyzes markets, costs, and income approaches in order to structure the procurement and sales of real estate.

GERALD SEQUEIRA
Assistant Development Manager

Gerald assists in the feasibility and governmental entitlements to prepare the project for construction. He provides assistance in the oversight of the design and construction of industrial and self-storage real estate developments. He also coordinates with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure that all construction plans meet standards.

TAMARA KULIGINA
Asset Management Associate

Tamara determines the needs of our clients and provides strategic advice when managing their assets accordingly. Tamara monitors asset performance and recommends corrective measures and develops strategies to increase ROI and minimize risk and loss. She reviews policies and helps to cultivate finacial portfolios with potential adjustments, from researching relevant markets and identifying trends and patterns in real estate development.

DON WOODS
Sr. Vice President – Construction

Don Woods has a distinguished career spanning over 40 years, working with some of the most elite global companies, including Boeing, Amazon & Honda. He developed an expertise in all phases of the real estate spectrum, including specification development, procurement, contract negotiation, project management, scheduling and budget management. In short, Don’s vast experience positions Hernandez extraordinarily well to manage all aspects of a project and communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with clients.

MICHAEL FALKE
Sr. Vice President – Construction

Michael serves as a liaison with the client and all project team members including leasing, planning, design, construction and finance. He oversees all oversees the scope of work, budget, schedule and phasing related to landlord and tenant premises. Mr. Falke passionately navigates the real estate process on our clients behalf, and ensures that projects are on time and in accordance with its lease so the client can remain focused on their primary business.

STEPHEN SANDEFUR, MBA, LEED AP BD + C, HCC
Vice President – Construction Management

As VP of Construction Management, Stephen is responsible for all aspects of Hernandez’s construction operations. Stephen brings beneficial new alliances, strategic partnerships and a deep understanding of the entire construction process to support Hernandez Development’s performance and growth efforts. He is currently overseeing and leading Hernandez’s geographical expansion across Chicago and Indianapolis while continuing to advance their presence in the Midwest market.

DAN NORRIS
Vice President – Preconstruction

Mr. Norris serves as the liaison between project members to promote the interest of both the business and clients. Mr. Norris leverages his diverse background as an Estimator, Project Executive and Superintendent to oversee the planning, design and construction of a project from beginning to completion, while keeping tight control of the project’s time, cost and quality. He provides oversight for all phases of the project, including coordinating workers, material, equipment and ensuring that specifications are being followed.

RENE GARCIA
Sr. Preconstruction Manager

Rene Garcia is responsible for leading and coordinating preconstruction and estimating efforts. As such, Garcia prepares cost estimates from conception through final contract, working with and coordinating the project team including the Owner/Client, all design professionals, subcontractors, and the Project Manager. In addition, he provides value-adding solutions that take schedule, maintenance, and life-cycle cost into consideration.

DAVID GROSS
Sr. Partnership Accountant

David Gross is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of demonstrated experience and proven success in providing overall management and oversight of accounting and risk management operational services applicable to a diverse range of projects. Before Hernandez, David worked for Swire Properties, a leading developer with investments across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, and the US.

MELISSA LEE
Marketing Manager

Melissa creates, develops and pursues commercial opportunities through extensive research, and manages a database of new clients and existing relationships using data-driven software solutions. She ensures that management is constantly appraised of new business activity, market opportunities, trends and business developments. Melissa is also in charge of the creation and design of all physical and digital marketing materials.

ADRIANA QUINTERO
Accountant/Bookkeeper

Adriana is responsible for managing complex budgets and financial statements, including tracking expenses, processing payments, and generating financial reports. Adriana works closely with project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. She is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reduce costs.
